6 Years away

The year is 2128, and the earth is doomed, humans have begun to seek refuge on other planets. Only a few humans have chosen to leave and forsake their homeworld, hoping that the earth will heal with time. The closest human colony to earth takes 6 long years to reach with even the most advanced photon engines. That's how long it takes to send a letter, that's how long it takes to hear the news, that's how long it takes to hear from a loved one left behind.
